Suzanne
Vega is an American singer-songwriter known for her eclectic folk-inspired music.
Two of Suzanne Vega's songs
(both from her second album Solitude Standing, 1987) reached the top 10 of various
international chart listings: "Luka" and "Tom's Diner".
In 2001 Suzanne
Vega released a new album entitled Songs in red and gray. Three songs
deal with Vega's divorce from her first husband, Mitchell Froom.
In 2007 Suzanne
Vega released Beauty & Crime. The album was produced by Jimmy
Hogarth, which won a Grammy Award for best enginereed album, non classical.
In February 2014,
after seven years Tales from the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles was released, it
was Vega's first album of new material in seven years. The album features
contributions from Larry Campbell and Tony Levin (bassist from King Crimson and for Peter Gabriel).
